• 💳 Smoother card payments: We upgraded our payments infrastructure and paying with your card on MoonPay is now more reliable, with higher approval rates and fewer declines.
• 🏎️ Faster app: The app is now noticeably faster. Your Swap screen loads almost instantly and other list-heavy screens feel smoother too.
• 🏁 Speedier sign up: New users can now get started with the app much faster, with wallet setup and first login times cut in half.
• 🔑 Easier login: Signing in to MoonPay is now faster and smoother, as we removed the annoying captcha tickbox. If you are a human (are you?) you get to enjoy a lower friction experience.

We're thrilled to introduce MoonTags, which will vastly improve how you send and receive crypto. Gone are the days of complex wallet addresses and confusing networks. Now you can use a simple and unique username — your MoonTag — for all your transfers.

You’ll start with a default MoonTag from MoonPay, then personalize it with your own name and profile picture. You have the option to let other users find you via your MoonTag or phone number, giving you full control over your privacy settings.

Our goal is to make moving crypto as intuitive as sending a text message to a friend, unifying all your transactions under one easy-to-remember tag and hiding the technical details.

• 🔒 Smoother authentication: We know captchas can be frustrating, so we're optimizing them for key processes to speed up your login while still preventing malicious activity.
• 🇩🇪 MoonPay Balance in Germany: Hallo! If you’re in Germany, you can now hold Euros in your MoonPay Balance and enjoy fast, low-cost, and secure access to 60+ cryptos with zero MoonPay fees. Top up with your favorite method (bank transfer, PayPal, Apple Pay or Open Banking), trade tokens instantly, and withdraw to your bank anytime with near-perfect acceptance rates.
• 💌 Exchange assets with friends: There’s a new screen to quickly send or request assets. When sending, simply search your friend’s MoonTag, add a short note, and hit send. You can also receive payments (like that dinner with friends) in your favorite token.

MoonPay is built with multiple layers of protection. And now, it includes biometric authentication. Your assets are always yours, and with Face ID, Touch ID or your device’s PIN, they are even more secure.

The app will lock automatically after inactivity or closure, and you can adjust lock settings anytime in the app. If you are a new user you will see a quick walkthrough to get started right away.

This update reduces fraud risks, protects against account takeovers, and delivers the same smooth experience you already expect from top FinTech and Web3 apps.

• 📥 Easier deposits: We completely redesigned the deposit screen to make it simple and easy to add funds to your MoonPay account, whether you're topping up your balance or depositing assets like BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP or TRX.
• 🪙 Transfer from Coinbase: We integrated with Coinbase and now you can seamlessly move assets directly from Coinbase to your MoonPay account using the revamped deposit screen.
• 🇨🇦 Support for Interac e-Transfer® (Canada): You can now buy crypto using Interac e-Transfer®, the same trusted payment method you use for everything from coffee to rent. It’s fast, familiar, and offers better success rates for our Canadian users.
• ⏳ Custom loading screen: If you have an integration with MoonPay, you can now customize the loading screen to better match your brand. Choose between building your own loader or using our built-in theme customizer from the Partner dashboard.

Today, we have a new addition to the MoonPay constellation of products. Introducing MoonPay Convert, a simple and secure way to convert your crypto assets through our DeFi integrations directly within your MoonPay account. The crypto market is constantly in motion and now you can be too. Whether you're looking to hedge against volatility or capitalize on a new trend, MoonPay Convert gives you the flexibility to act instantly.

• Faster crypto transactions: Do you like speed? Then you'll be glad to hear we've significantly improved transaction times for our most popular assets: LTC, DOGE, ETH, BCH, and ADA are now 2-6 times faster.
• Show off your crypto gains: Easily share your Solana token gains (and losses) directly from the app. It generates a fancy card that you can share with friends on social media or in DMs. It also includes a referral link, making it simple for others to get started and join you.

• Cash out USDC without SOL: Ever found yourself unable to move your USDC profits because you didn’t own enough SOL to cover fees? Starting now, you can sell your USDC even without SOL. We'll simply use a portion of your USDC to cover the necessary transaction fees.
• Track your Solana profits: You can now easily track the real-time profit and loss for each of your Solana tokens directly within the MoonPay app. This takes into account all on-chain transactions, even if they happened outside of the MoonPay app.
• Scam alerts for DeFi: We introduced "Scam banners" for DeFi tokens. If a token has suspicious properties like low liquidity or concentrated ownership, we’ll warn you and explain the risks.
• Faster transactions: Solana completion times have been drastically reduced from an average of 80 seconds to under 5 seconds, a 16x improvement. We've also sped up processing for other tokens by 15 seconds.
• Enhanced login security: MoonPay has enhanced the account security with proactive login notifications for new devices, plus a session management screen where users can see and manage all their active sessions.
• Simplified balance management: The home screen was redesigned to clearly display how much balance is available to trade. It is now easier to top up funds with a new deposit button, and you can see your funds across various networks (with more to come).

• Expanded support for Apple Pay: Now available on desktop! Users can use Apple Pay with any major browser by simply scanning a QR code with their iPhone, making payments quick and easy.

• Redesigned settings:  We updated Settings with our new Orion design system, making it easier and more efficient to manage preferences. • Streamlined webhook testing: Partners can now test webhooks directly from the Partner Dashboard. Based on feedback, we've updated the configuration to allow partners to set test and live endpoints and see their responses directly in the UI.
• “Pay with crypto” integration: Most developers who integrate MoonPay seek “Pay with Crypto”, and thanks to our Helio acquisition it's now available in the Partner Dashboard. We're currently working to bring the Helio account setup directly into the Dashboard.

• New account total value: Previously, users could only inspect the value of each wallet individually, making it hard to get a clear picture of their total assets. To solve this, we’ve introduced a new “Total Value” section in the app. This feature displays the combined value of all assets across your MoonPay accounts—including the new MoonPay Balance—all in a single number.
• New token spotlight: Our new feature highlights the latest top performing tokens, helping users make timely and informed purchases. Previously, this was limited to only a few tokens, but we plan to add more categories soon.
• Support for Flow (EVM): MoonPay now supports Flow (EVM) on the Ethereum blockchain, expanding our On-ramps offer.

We're excited to announce that we extended our “Pay to Card” feature, allowing everyone to sell crypto directly to a Visa or MasterCard debit card, giving you even more flexibility.

What's new? EU users can now sell crypto directly to Mastercard (in addition to Visa), while UK users can now cash out to both Visa and Mastercard for faster, more flexible payouts. This feature is available for debit cards only and offers a faster alternative to traditional bank transfers and PayPal. At MoonPay we have multiple options to fit your needs,  choose the payout method that works best for you!

This improvement means that selling your crypto to your debit card is instant—no more waiting up to three business days, as with traditional bank transfers. This added speed, however, does come with a slightly higher fee (more about our fees).

Our improved “Pay to Card” feature now puts the choice of speed vs cost in your hands. This feature will be available in France, Germany, Spain, and 21 other EU countries, as well as all users in the UK. Try it out next time you’re ready to collect some profits!

• Added support for Worldcoin: Worldcoin is now available on our On-ramps, making it easier for users to purchase WLD, on Worldchain, Ethereum, Optimism networks, directly through our platform.
• On-ramp and Off-ramp support for Ton and Solana assets: We added a ton of new assets. Quite literally. The new buy assets are HMSTR (Ton), BONK (Solana), JTO (Solana), HNT (Solana), MEW (Solana), RENDER (Solana), DRIFT (Solana), JUP (Solana), and RAY (Solana) for Global users. We’ve also enabled MANA (Etherum) for our USA customers. For sell, we’d add support for TON (Ton) and USDT_TON (Ton).
• Revamped business analytics: Our MoonPay Dashboard now offers improved insights based on the feedback we received from our partners. We allow you to track your success per product, country, payment method, demographics and much more — all to strengthen our partner relationships.
• MoonPay URL builder: A simple tool that allows any partner to easily experiment with widget parameters and generate the final widget URL, including the signature outputs.

• Welcome screen for new users: New users are greeted with a set of screens that offer a friendly introduction to the app. One of the topics covered by these new screens is the KYC process, ensuring a smoother onboarding with clear steps to get verified and fully utilize the app.
• New “Learn More” section: We've introduced educational cards that guide users on what to do or learn next. These cards cover topics like making a first purchase, securing their account, and understanding key crypto concepts.

We’ve completely revamped the Send feature, offering a native and seamless experience, directly within the MoonPay app — no more switching between the app and your browser.

We took this opportunity to also introduce a new design system, which you'll start seeing more throughout the app. You'll notice that the Send feature is now faster, more modern, and more intuitive.

Right now, you can use the new Send for:

• BTC
• SOL (Native)
• ETH (Mainnet) and other ERC-20 tokens
• XRP and RLUSD

And this is just the beginning. In the near future, we’ll be expanding support to include more EVM chains, aligning with those already available in the Buy flow.

• Your MoonPay account just got more secure: We've enhanced security with password protection and phone verification on your next login. This will replace the old email OTP code and is part of our ongoing effort to build trust and ensure greater protection for MoonPay users, with more updates to come.
• Better FAQ about fees and payment methods: We’ve added a FAQ link to the MoonPay Dashboard to address common questions such as “What fees does MoonPay charge?” and “What payment methods do you support?”
• Simplified onboarding for partners: Also on our MoonPay Dashboard, we’ve collapsed the account activation accordion, added numbered steps as a checklist, and placed it front and center to help our Partners easily see the next step.
• Migrated MATIC to POL: With Polygon's transition from MATIC to POL, we've updated our support to include POL (ERC-20) and POL (Polygon) assets for both U.S. and global regions.

• Improved theming (Beta): We upgraded the theming feature in the new MoonPay Dashboard. Partners can now create and switch between multiple themes, offering greater customization flexibility.
• Support for Polygon NFTs: The MoonPay App now supports displaying NFTs from both Ethereum and Polygon. 
• Enhanced product documentation: We've completed the migration of our product documentation from v1 to v2. The updated documentation, which details our products, their features, and integration steps, is available on dev.moonpay.com.
• Pausing Web Account: We’re always working to make MoonPay better for you. As part of that, we’re making a few changes to the Web Account. During this upgrade, account.moonpay.com will be paused, but no worries! You can still manage your account and trade crypto easily in our app – it has everything you need. Prefer using the web? You can still make transactions on our Buy, Sell, and Swap pages. 
• Off-ramp support for MATIC: The MATIC token on Ethereum is now available on both our On and Off-ramp products. This means any user can now buy and sell MATIC (ERC-20). 
• Support for USDT on Arbitrum: Users can now buy and sell USDT on Arbitrum. With this update, our Ramps products support the four major assets on Arbitrum (ETH, USDC, USDT, MAGIC). 
• Upgraded login flow: We've given our login a modern redesign, making it not only more visually appealing but also easier to use. And this is just the beginning :)
• MoonPay accounts getting more secure: Over the next few weeks, your MoonPay accounts will get password and two factor authentication to better protect your funds. 
• New Swaps overview screen: A new "Swaps Overview" tab was added to the MoonPay Dashboard. There you will find data and charts about your volume and transactions. We also fixed some bugs to improve the onboarding experience, and, starting now, we always enable ETH in the sandbox to make it easier to test their integration in sandbox mode.
• Olá Brasil: We’ve localized our new homepage to Brazilian Portuguese.

Stamps are our first endeavor to reward users who consistently choose MoonPay for their crypto transactions. We want to express our gratitude and commemorate their loyalty.

But what exactly are Stamps? Are they achievements, app icons, or NFTs? Well, they're all three!

Users earn Stamps by completing transactions. Each achievement unlocks a fresh app icon and an NFT as a heartfelt token of appreciation from MoonPay. For instance, upon completing five transactions, users receive the "Silver" stamp—an NFT that can be used as the MoonPay app’s icon.

Additionally, our most active users will receive a badge on their profile, indicating their rank among other MoonPay users. Users who frequently buy, sell, or swap crypto might unlock badges like "Top 1%" or even "Top 0.1%".

Although the current criteria are transaction-based, we're exploring numerous options to expand your achievements in the future. So, grab your device, jump into the app, and discover how many Stamps you've earned so far!

• Support for Solana wallets: It’s here! Every user will get a Solana wallet in their MoonPay Account upon their next login or when making a purchase. The wallet is created automatically without user interaction for maximum convenience.
• Revamped MoonPay Dashboard: We listened to our partners’ feedback and made some quality of life improvements to the UI of our MoonPay Dashboard. These tweaks are part of a bigger redesign that’s coming up. Next week, we'll display a banner inviting all partners to try V2 before we eventually deprecate V1 in June.
• Regional pricing for affiliate fees: Speaking of MoonPay Dashboard, our partners are now able to set region-specific fees for Off-Ramp. We support 8 regions (Global, East Asia, Australia, Brazil, EEA, Nigeria, UK and US) and 5 payment methods (Cards, EUR Bank Transfers, GBP Bank Transfers, USD ACH, PayPal).
• USDC on OP Mainnet: We now support the native USDC token on OP Mainnet.

We're excited to announce the launch of Base support for MoonPay Checkout! Amidst uncertainties surrounding the future of Ethereum NFTs, we've prioritized support for Layer 2 solutions. • Increased purchase limits for Apple Pay & Google Pay: We've raised the transaction limits for these mobile payment methods. This adjustment brings them in line with the limits for card payments.
• Increased swap limits: We enabled higher limits, up to $150K swaps, for 6 base currencies (USDC, USDT, BTC, ETH, DAI, and SOL).
• Optimized network fees: We've updated swapping and sending BTC from your MoonPay Account so costs are lower when there is network congestion.
• Support for Solana balances: If the user owns a wallet that contains SOL we now display this balance. One small step towards full Solana support, we’re getting there!
• Faster crypto delivery: We made significant enhancements to expedite delivery times for Solana assets (SOL, USDT_SOL, USDC_SOL), resulting in a 5x reduction in average delivery time, down to just 3 mins.
• A “TON” of new asset listings: $PORTAL and $USDT_SOL were added to our On-Ramp globally. Additionally, USDT_TON is now available for On-Ramp outside the US. USDT_SOL is now supported for On-Ramp and Off-Ramp globally.
• Welcome back Louisiana: All products (Buy, Sell, Swap) and assets are once again available in this state.

Did you know users have bought over $24 million worth of crypto into their MoonPay accounts? Until now, you could only cash-out that crypto if you used our web account. Well, we have exciting news for MoonPay app users!

Users are now able to use the new native off-ramp in order to sell their crypto assets directly from the MoonPay app. Converting crypto to fiat is easier than ever. Just open the app, select the wallet, tap sell, and follow the simple steps.

• PayPal integration: Users in the US are now able to buy or sell crypto using their PayPal account.  More about this convenient PayPal integration in our newsroom.
• Dark mode on MoonPay app: Our long-awaited dark theme is now available in the app, offering a sleek and stylish browsing experience.
• Mobile-native transaction status: Previously, when app users clicked to view the status of a transaction, the app would open a browser tab. Now, it displays the information natively in the app.
• Support for top 20 assets added to off-ramp: We have expanded our sell options to include the top 20 buy assets, such as USDC (Solana), MATIC (Polygon), USDT (BSC), ADA, and DOGE. This brings the total number of supported assets on off-ramp to 23.
• New asset listing for ATOM in the USA: We now support ATOM in both the US and Global regions. Customers in the US can now buy Cosmos (ATOM) using our on-ramp.
• More assets for New York customers: MATIC (Ethereum) and MATIC (Polygon) are now available to buy in New York state.
• Cookie-less authentication inside iframes: This ensures successful authentication in iframe contexts, enabling us to eliminate the "no cookies for you screen."

The MoonPay team assembled for a five-day offsite in London. Over 90 colleagues gathered, divided into 7 teams (each led by a peer-nominated "CEO"), and competed for a $25k USDC prize.

Just like before, the hackathon had a theme. This time it was "Buttery Smooth User Experience." Instead of developing new features, we applied our creativity and problem-solving abilities to enhance our existing products and experiences.

A major area of focus was our beloved widget. The “Fast & Curious” team focused on speed and was able to reduce the widget’s loading time by 14%. They also introduced opt-in monthly reminders for users who like to buy crypto recurrently (DCA).

The “Sell-ution Seekers” team improved Sell, as you may have guessed. This included enhancements such as toggling between a fiat and crypto amount to sell, decreasing the minimum amount to sell while increasing maximum limit for all payment methods, and expanding our asset support to include all top 20 assets.

And because our users are not just consumers, team "Partner Polish" focused on our partners. They improved our technical documentation covering buying, selling, and swapping cryptocurrencies. Partners can now easily select which tokens to support for on- and off-ramps using our new searchable list. Plus, partners can sign up and deploy a swaps widget in under 60 minutes.

Team “You butter believe it” improved the MoonPay core engine, including KYC enhancements to streamline the verification process and reduce customer frustration, and providing users with a recommended payment method with the highest approval rate to ensure their purchase is successful.

Two teams focused on quality of life improvements. Team “Dark Side of the Moon” focused on customers, adding support for dark mode in the app, translating the app to six languages and designing a friendlier FinProm banner. Team “Quality of Life” focused on developers, improving tracing and debugging, automating the scaling of our services and designing a Figma template for presentations.

Overall, the event was a success. It showcased our commitment to continuously improving the MoonPay experience for both consumers and partners, resulted in fixing over 100 issues, and fostered cross-team collaboration across various departments (Design, Data, Engineering, Product, Compliance, Operations, and many more). Lately we have been busy enhancing the functionality and user experience of our Web Account platform. We've dedicated our efforts to refining various aspects of the interface based on valuable feedback from our users and partners. Here are some of the improvements we’ve made:

• Trade history in Account settings: We've added a much-requested feature—a direct link to trade history in the Account settings. You can also export that history into a file.
• Transaction details: Users can now delve deeper into their past activity. By clicking on any activity item, the transaction tracker will open providing them with comprehensive transaction details.
• Send fixes: We've fixed issues related to decimals/rounding in the send modal and optimized how different lengths of numbers scale, ensuring accuracy and clarity across the platform.
• Polished activity section: The team has resolved scaling issues in the activity section, ensuring that users can now view all past activity clearly and neatly.
• Wallet address visibility: We've relocated the wallet address on the wallet details screen to a more prominent position within the action bar. Users can now effortlessly copy their wallet address for sharing or transactions, eliminating the need to navigate through menu options.

• Transaction created webhook: The onTransactionCreated event is now available in all SDKs. This was the #1 request from partners that are using our SDKs. We hear you!
• Standalone KYB in MoonPay Dashboard: The sidebar now features a progress indicator, providing partners with clear updates on their verification status and emphasizing the advantages of reaching higher verification levels.
• Mobile support of MoonPay Dashboard: We added responsiveness to our MoonPay Dashboard’s pages and we now automatically collapse the sidebar into a menu for improved mobile usability.
• Enhanced sell flow: The new deposit screen, featuring clearer instructions, now appears earlier in the process for improved user experience.
• Extended ENS compatibility: We've expanded our support to include over 25 additional networks for resolving ENS domain names, treating them with the same priority as Ethereum on Mainnet.
• Faster Auth SDK: Dramatically improved loading speed, now 8 times faster, reducing it to just 1 second.
• Enable transactions for high-risk jurisdictions with proof of residence: Formerly, we restricted transactions for customers from high-risk countries. With this update, rather than outright blocking these users, we offer them the opportunity to provide proof of legal residence in a different country.

We're thrilled to announce that our Sell feature is now seamlessly integrated into our MoonPay App. By bringing Sell to our official app, we're making it easier than ever for users to exchange crypto for fiat.

• Cancel sell transaction: Customers are now able to cancel their sell order during the deposit stage, which is very useful in case they made a mistake or changed their mind. Previously the customer had to wait 7 days for the transaction to expire.
• Balance of connected wallet: Upon connecting a wallet with MoonPay, customers will be able to view the balance of their connected wallet. This should simplify choosing how much to sell or swap.
• MoonPay Checkout Polygon support: Our Checkout product now supports items priced in MATIC, you can try this out on OpenSea today.
• FinProm UK Compliance: We're committed to meeting the UK's FinProm requirements, which involve tasks like filling out a risk waiver, adhering to the 24 hour cooling period, and completing the self-categorization and appropriateness test.
• Delisted BNB in the UK: We no longer support buying, selling, and swapping BNB in the UK. Your safety and security are our top priorities. We regularly monitor the rules and regulations to ensure we're not just compliant, but also providing a secure and safe environment.

• Increased session’s time to expire: Until now, we would automatically log our users out of Ramps after seven days of inactivity. For their convenience, we increased that to six months—although we doubt our users will resist buying or selling crypto for that long.
• Added Wallet Connect support to Off-ramps: Until now our users had to manually send us the crypto they wanted to sell, and now they can simply connect to their favorite wallet and sell directly.
• Disabled stablecoin transactions in Canada: Due to risk and compliance updates, stablecoin transactions are restricted in Canada. Canadian residents and users' with Canada IP addresses won't be able to see or transact with stablecoins.

The MoonPay team recently gathered for a five-day offsite in Lisbon, bringing together 100+ employees spanning over five departments and 20+ countries.

Our offsites often serve as the location for our quarterly hackathon, which has consistently fostered groundbreaking ideas.

Each hackathon has a specific theme, and this quarter’s was "Fix It". Rather than pursuing shiny new ideas, our focus was on enhancing the user experience of existing products. This also served as an opportunity for teams to clean up some product and tech debt before the start of the new year.

Eleven employees were elected to recruit and lead a team of approximately ten people each, with the goal of building production-ready solutions that would improve our core business. Almost a dozen teams managed to turn 25 ideas into production-ready solutions — all in less than a week! It was an awe-inspiring display of teamwork. 🤝

These ideas led to multiple improvements across our product offering, including:

We're thrilled to introduce a game-changing upgrade to our MoonPay SDK collection, specifically tailored for React apps.

While our SDK did support React previously, it required building React-specific logic, which could be quite intricate. To put this into perspective, a custom React integration with our Web SDK would typically entail around 300 lines of code for an optimal developer experience.

With our new React package, this number has dramatically decreased to just around 10 lines - a remarkable reduction of approximately 96%.

The integration process is now incredibly straightforward. In just three lines of JSX, you can effectively incorporate the MoonPay React SDK. No need for intimidating hooks or worrying about loading MoonPay separately. Rest assured, the React SDK offers the same level of customization, seamless communication, and type-safety as our Web SDK.

• Replaced BUSD pairs with USDT on Binance: The Binance exchange has revealed plans to discontinue BUSD by February 2024. As such, we have proactively removed our dependency on BUSD pairs, and replaced them with USDT pairs to mitigate any intermittent issues related to the Binance announcement.
• Arbitrum-native USDC support: We've implemented changes to support the native Arbitrum USDC across our products. This variant, issued by Circle and officially recognized by Arbitrum, holds the distinction of being directly redeemable for US dollars at a 1:1 ratio.

What does this mean for you? As part of our compliance efforts, we've introduced a new onboarding flow and requirements for all UK residents. This includes a localized questionnaire, updated Terms & Conditions, and new transaction limits.

Additionally, we are now screening UK customer wallets to determine if they are custodial or non-custodial at the order creation step, in strict accordance with the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) guidance. These changes are essential to comply with the Crypto Travel Rule.

For context, this is a mandate requiring Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) and financial institutions involved in virtual asset transfers to collect and share personal data of transaction originators and beneficiaries. The goal is to combat money laundering and reinforce the integrity of virtual asset transactions.

MoonPay has partnered with Yellowcard to provide on-ramps in Nigeria.

With this update, Nigerian users can now easily buy cryptocurrencies using their local currency, with simple and secure on-ramps provided by Yellowcard. We're excited to bring our industry-leading fiat-to-crypto onramp to even more users around the world.
