MoonPay is pleased to announce that we are SOC 2 Type 2 certified!
SOC 2 Type 2 stands as one of the most prominent and globally respected benchmarks for information security management. As part of the AICPA’s Service Organization Control reports, it was designed to help organizations manage and protect sensitive information.
Whereas SOC 2 Type 1 audits assess MoonPay at a single point in time, SOC 2 Type 2 measures effectiveness over a period of time (typically 3-12 months). This provides a more comprehensive assessment of MoonPay’s control environment, going beyond security to address availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy, and allows us to demonstrate our long-term resilience in protecting sensitive data.
“With the SOC 2 Type 2 certification, MoonPay will continue to uphold the highest standards in security, technology risk management, operational excellence, and the protection of customer data,” said Doug Innocenti, Chief Information Security Officer at MoonPay. “This achievement reflects our unwavering dedication to exemplary security and reinforces our commitment to providing the most safe and reliable services.”
Last year MoonPay earned its ISO 27001 certification, often referred to as the gold standard for information security. By earning this certification, we have demonstrated our commitment to protecting customer data and maintaining top-notch security.
With the SOC 2 Type 2, MoonPay has completed its trifecta of major certifications, which also includes PCI Level1 and ISO27001. This achievement is a testament to MoonPay's commitment to providing its customers with a safe and secure platform.
