MoonPay’s new London home

What our new office means for us.

By Vanessa Gilardi

Last month MoonPay opened a brand-new office in London, marking an exciting chapter in our journey as we transition from a fast-growing startup to an established player in the fintech space.

Remote-first doesn’t mean remote-only. For us it means creating a meaningful space to be together when it is most productive and efficient for our team. And getting our first dedicated space signifies much more than just a change in address—it symbolizes our growth, our ambitions, and our commitment to creating an environment that embodies our identity and culture.

Making space

For a while, agile co-working office options served us well, giving us the opportunity to grow at our own pace and the flexibility to significantly alter our arrangement if needed.

But we faced a number of logistical challenges, including the basic task of accommodating everyone. On some days, the office was so full that finding a desk was like a lengthy game of musical chairs! We were also looking for a better way to welcome our wider community network to our space because, after all, our company’s vision to democratize access to crypto gives us a duty to democratize all that we do.

So we had to go to the drawing board and explore ways to optimize our team's work setup to suit our unique requirements.

As we continued to scale and hire new talent, it became clear that we needed a dedicated space that truly reflects who we are as a company. Our new office is designed to be larger and more open, making it easier for people to come together without hassle and have the kind of organic interactions that are so important to the work we do.

Close encounters

We’re also now neighbors with some of the brightest minds in London.

Nestled in a vibrant area that’s buzzing with creativity and innovation, our new location not only gives us a space that’s uniquely ours but also opens doors for networking and new collaborations.

Being in the heart of one of the world’s most dynamic cities also means we’re perfectly positioned to tap into its rich talent pool. London’s financial services sector saw a staggering 88% increase in tech-based job vacancies in 2024, underscoring the city's status as a global fintech hub.

Perking up

As part of our commitment to making the London “MoonBase” a place where people want to be, we’ve also upgraded our office perks.

One of these perks is a daily lunch to keep everyone fueled and to show our appreciation for the hard work they put in each day. These small touches are about creating an environment where creativity can thrive and where every team member feels valued.

Purpose built

Unlike the generic feel of a co-working space, our new office aligns with MoonPay's unique style and needs. The space is  thoughtfully designed for our work environment allowing individuals to be productive wherever they work best. This approach doesn't exclude in-person meetings. In fact, we intentionally gather a few times a year at our product offsite for our quarterly hackathon to brainstorm big ideas.

We truly think that embracing flexibility and thoughtful design will drive MoonPay innovation forward.

We’ve designed our new office to inspire and motivate, to give real purpose to in-person collaboration, and to make every commute worthwhile. Whether it’s the overall layout - emphasizing open spaces and hangout areas - or the little details (such as our framed copy of the Bitcoin whitepaper on the wall of one of our meeting rooms), everything is carefully designed to make MoonPay’s new home a place where our team can do their best work.

Join us!

We couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds in our new London office.

If you too want to work in a space that inspires creativity and are looking to make an impact in product, engineering, or design, we’d love to hear from you. Our London team is growing, so be sure to check out our Careers Page for open roles.
