MoonPay is thrilled to announce our partnership with Fondation Vasarely, Paco Rabanne & Selfridges on the launch of their first NFT collection Universe.

The collection, which includes 12 NFT artworks from the late Op-Art pioneer Victor Vasarely and 12 Paco Rabanne “Unwearable” archive couture NFTs is on sale starting tomorrow at universenft.live, with prices starting from 0.2 WETH.

MoonPay is facilitating payments for the collection via NFT Checkout, an industry-first solution that allows users to purchase an NFT instantly with a credit or debit card. Anyone purchasing a Universe NFT will be able to use major payment methods, including Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, without having to leave the site.

“This collection is an outstanding example of how NFTs have creative uses well beyond what typically grabs headlines,” said MoonPay co-founder and CEO Ivan Soto-Wright. “We’re honored that MoonPay has been chosen to facilitate payments for a collection that pays homage to Paco Rabanne’s history and the work of legendary artist Victor Vasarely.”

Proceeds of the Paco Rabanne NFT sales will facilitate the restoration of historical Paco Rabanne archive pieces, and the proceeds from the Vasarely NFTs will go towards essential repairs of monumental artworks within Fondation Vasarely, a museum in Aix en Provence, France dedicated to and funded by the artist. Six Vasarely NFTs are digital designs of these artworks and are programmed to visually adjust over time, reflecting real-life repair to the physical artworks.

“At Selfridges, experimenting with new ideas and new models is what excites us the most,” said Selfridges executive buying Director, Sebastian Manes. “I’m proud that we have been able to truly push boundaries with this collaboration, by investing in the future of fashion and art, we are repairing the past.”

Owners of Paco Rabanne 1/1 NFTs will receive an exclusive invitation to the Paris atelier, where Julien Dossena will collaborate with the same French artisans who made the original heritage pieces that inspired the NFTs to create a custom version, made to measure to the owner’s requirements. This unique experience will also include a VIP invite to the next Paco Rabanne show, as a special guest of the fashion house. Owners of premium Vasarely NFT’s receive named plaques within the Fondation, private tours, and patronage.

The NFTs will be minted on the Polygon Network, the blockchain of choice for global brands including Prada and Adidas.
